Join us in celebrating the down under marriage of
Matthew William Simkins and Susan Michelle Sargent
on 26th April 2024 at 2pm at The Haven, Poyungan Rocks and afterwards at the Eco Retreat, Second Valley, Eurong, K’gari (Fraser Island).
HERE IS SOME VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOU TO KNOW BEFORE YOU RSVP.
Home to the Butchulla people and a World Heritage property, K’gari is a very special place to both Sue and Matt.
K’gari is a remote island that is only accessible by 4WD. It’s a magical place but it can catch you out if you are not prepared. For this reason, we have asked for some help from Hana ‘the planner’ Robinson. As the organiser of our special day on K’gari, Hana is here to take care of the logistics and help you, our wonderful family and friends to get the most from your visit to this unique location.
Together with Hana we have put together for you some information that includes accommodation and transport options to help you consider your best options before you RSVP.
“Hana the planner” will be hosting an online information session that you can attend to gain further insights into the planning process of getting to, from and around K’gari. This will be held on 27th October at 6pm AEST (8am GMT).

4WD TRANSPORT OPTIONS
BRING YOUR OWN 4WD
If you have your own wheels bring them along. Please remember to book your Vehicle Access Permit on National Parks Website and plan your trip around the tides.
If you are planning to bring your own wheels please email [email protected] with your registration number and number of guests so we can plan out parking arrangements for the ceremony and reception.
Hire a 4WD
If you don’t have your own wheels but are over 25 and consider yourself a confident and competent driver you can hire a 4WD from Noosa, Rainbow Beach, or Hervey Bay.
4WD hire is charged per calendar day so you would need to hire for 3 days minimum. However, when it comes to spending time in paradise, the longer the better. You won’t regret an extra day or more.
book on the bus
Just want to relax and let someone else take care of managing tides times, well we have you covered there too. As part of booking the bus to and from the island you will also be provided with a guided experience to some of the island most magical places.
This is the best option if you have never been to the island before and want to make a holiday of it.
